Dr. Brett Eliuk Implants First MRI-Safe Pacemaker In SW Michigan

The first MRI-safe pacemakers in southwest Michigan were implanted March 3rdĀ and 10th at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Brett J. Eliuk, DO completed two procedures using the Revo MRI SureScanĀ®, the first pacemaker that is FDA-approved for MRI use. Before this system, MRI scans with pacemakers were not recommended due to risk of serious complications. There is an estimated 50 to 75 percent chance that patients with cardiac devices will need a MRI over the lifetime of their devices.
